Post Barbie Thoughts

On my way home from the Barbie Movie, or which I LOVED SO MUCH… I thought a lot about why girls play with dolls. And then I decided not to think really hard about it, and just to go with the entire thing and let it all just play itself out. Beethoven’s fifth SO FUNNY! and we need more funny yet with a HUGE nod toward irony. So, these became the SECOND series of Civilian Shirts that are integrating my ‘serious’ artwork with my ‘Whimsical Civilian’ work. I am moving toward simplifying and integrating my various selves. That is the next phase of this Civilian adventure. I am inviting people into my studio, something that I have been reluctant to do again after having a production storefront for so many years. My Studio will OPEN TO THE PUBLIC on WEDNESDAYS beginning in September 2024.
